During our stay in the US we stopped over at Page, northern Arizona, to visit one of the world’s most amazing places, the Antelope Canyon. We’re pretty sure that you would have seen at least one photo of this canyon in someone’s screen saver or hung up on someone’s wall because it is truly amazing.
The gorgeous geological formation has been shaped by the water currents, and in fact, you can only visit it with a tour guide because the risk of flooding from torrential rains is so high. The best thing to do is to plan ahead and book in advance through this website.
It is just stunning but the actual visit is not really that enjoyable, at least in our experience. It’s really easy to take gorgeous photos because the different lights and textures lend themselves well to this purpose but the actual place is so touristy and so badly organised that it is a little stressful.
We went right in the middle of summer and it was so busy that it was impossible to take photos,
there were always about 40 people surrounding us trying to do the same thing. It was chaos. Some people even bought two tickets to be able to visit the Canyon twice and enjoy it a little more.
