Venice is the area in Los Angeles that we most wanted to see when we flew in a few months ago and the truth is that we were not disappointed. After a 50 minute drive (patience is key when dealing with the traffic) we arrived at Pacific Avenue where we were met with the Venice sign to begin our adventure in one of the city’s most charming areas.
Walking from Venice Beach to Santa Monica is super fun,
there are lots of shops, surfers, skaters and many photos to take. One of the things that we liked most about Los Angeles is the “wall tourism” and one of our favourite ones is in Venice: of Van Gogh’s starry night.
If you are after somewhere to have a coffee or tea we recommend that you head to Gjusta Bakery, which is an amazing place, with excellent coffee and delicious cakes. If you need somewhere to eat, head to Café Grattitude, an excellent vegetarian on 512 Rose Avenue. We can’t wait to go back to LA and do it all over again.
The best thing to do at sunset is to enjoy the view from the Santa Monica Pier, right where route 66 ends and so did our adventure around Venice Beach.
